Last year I featured a small selection from James and Dawn wedding in Wales. Here is a much larger selection giving a feel for the whole day! Have you ever seen such a continuously massive smile on a bride and HOW much cake!!?? ……. all made by the fair hands of the bride herself including the wedding cake, as was all of the decoration you will see.
This has to have been one of my favourites to photograph last year not least because of the amount there was to cover, or the lovely wedding party and guests but a lot has to do with the Irish twist too. I lived for a year on the West coast of Ireland and left a large part of my heart there, so the accents, irish music – tunes I know well, and the impromptu dancing from the grooms relatives really took me back to a special year.
The grooms cousin is an Irish dance champion and put on a little impromptu show for some of the guests – coincidentally the Botanic Gardens had some welsh traditional dancers performing in the public space that day who kindly played some music for him to dance to. (actually I think he was bullied by family into performing – but I am very glad they did! hehehe)
With thanks to the wonderful staff at the National Botanic Garden of Wales and the musical legends Crimes Against Folk who were brilliant and had everyone up and dancing!!
