SNAP Photography Festival ………… where do I even start and what can I say to do this experience justice ????? When I came back from this glorious wonderful gathering of likeminded fellow human beings brought together by one amazing Laura Babb I had so many emotions and feelings running around in my head that I couldn’t even show my thanks in words in the private group on Facebook like others were because I just didn’t know how to sum it all up in just a few words – it was THAT big ! It took time to process everything I had heard and learn’t, and un learn’t, and seen and experienced and felt. Even then it was still too BIG. You just need to go, and then you’ll know what I am talking about. It is very likely to change your life or at the very least your photography and your business. You will leave refreshed, invigorated, inspired and buzzing! And you will leave knowing you have made dozens of new friends for life who understand exactly! and will be there to support you no matter what. SNAP isn’t just for a week it’s for life.
Those not in the ‘know’ about SNAP my be wondering what the hell it was that I went to and that made me feel this way. Basically its a big get together of photographers of all levels and all ages, from all over the world, mainly wedding photographers but lots of us do other things besides weddings too, in Wales at an amazing venue called Fforest. It was a week JAM PACKED with inspiring successful and acclaimed photographers from all over the globe speaking about their work, their life, their experiences, their successes, their failures, tips and tricks. They came from all different backgrounds and all had their own different style and ways of shooting and running their businesses.
As well 3 days literally packed full of these inspiring people, there were practical sessions, time to experiment with others or just hang out, relax and chat with new people. 3 Meals a day were provided by the wonderful Fforest as well as AMAZING afternoon cake and all the tea, coffee and more importantly for me, hot chocolate you could wish to consume in a day! Every evening had fires to sit around drinking, marshmallows to toast, chatting and music playing by those talented enough …… cough …… and sometimes those not so talented enough teehehehe …… And big old final night rave up :)
